Vanity Update

I'm Back!
I think it is fair to say that I am horrible at posting weekly haha!
Butttt, I am making it my new goal to at least post once or twice a week!

Remember awhile back when I posted about an antique vanity I picked up and re did in a cranberry color for my bedroom?
Maybe this picture will jog your memory;

No? Well the Blog post can be found here.
Well I decided that the cranberry color wasn't quite right for the space.
So I decided to bust out my paint brush and try again!
&& I'm glad I did because I have fallen in love allll over again.

I love how it turned out!
I haven't quite found a place to put it in our bedroom yet since we just upgraded to a King size bed but I already love it better than the cranberry color it once was.

I think the black will look great with our white & black antique dresser.
{Post & Picture For the Dresser here}

Don't you just adore the fact that you get some wood tone and a surprise with the red popping out?!
I love unexpected colors like that ;)

I think that the knobs go a lot better with this paint color rather than the cranberry color I painted it before. It doesn't feel like it's competing with the color.

<3 Sorry for the picture overload!

I decided to just spray paint the drawers a light grey color so it was easier to see in the drawers.

And here is another shot of the detail!.

This piece is now for sale in my shop!
To get pricing and info check out the "My Shop" Tab under my banner!

So what do you think? Do you like it better like this?
How was your memorial day?
I can't wait to hear from you!
If you have been up to any projects like them up to my facebook page here.

Shabby Chic Bar Stools

Hi Again! I'm back with yet another blog post tonight!
Last month I teamed up with EllieMac Designs && became an assistant for the lovely Ellie McIntosh. I couldn't believe I was given such a neat opportunity to work with her and be apart of her company!
It is going to be such a great learning experience & I wanted to introduce you guys to her business.
You can find her facebook page here && her website here.
She is an amazing artist and an incredible designer!
She has a huge range in what she can do and would love to work with any of you!
Please checkout her website & facebook page as she has just relocated her business here from Colorado last May. She has worked with many different people and many different budgets, so don't be scared by the idea of an interior designer. She has many talents along with paintings and wall murals.
So if you have the time check her out and see what she is all about as I will probably be referencing to EllieMac designs in the future :)

As one of my first to do's she gave me these awesome bar stools she needed done for a clients house.
I'm sad I forgot to take a before picture but they were a dark wood color.
So here are the After's.

For some reason the only pictures I could find were of when I was working on one of the bar stools but both were distressed exactly the same.

We went back and forth between a few different options on the stools and I'm so happy with the choice we agree'd on! I can't wait to see how they look in Ellie's client's home!

I love the look of the wood on top & the creamy white base with some distressing here and there.
It really brought out the detail of the legs of these adorable bar stools.

I just can't get over how cute they are! Before they were all the same color wood as the seat on the stools.
Ellies client really loves the Shabby Chic Look & Bright colors, I think these neutral but interesting pieces will be a great accent in her clients kitchen!

I think I'm in love. Aren't you?

A new coffee table

The best part about moving to a new place is designing it && shopping for furniture,
I mean lets face it, who doesn't love shopping?!?!
So Recently when my mom was down here visiting we couldn't wait to go checkout the local shops.
We were so happy to find this amazing little store in Hampstead called the Hooked Fish.
I found such a lovely coffee table to go in our house from there.

It was love at first sight when I found this Shabby Chic table in their store.
I just knew I had to get it.

All the detail of the distressing really makes this piece stand out && brings such a homey feel to our living room.

Little did we know, when we got it back to my place it was a tad bit too tall for its purpose.
Since then I have been craiglisting and finally I stumbled upon this beauty.

Not exactly the color I wanted, but I love love love the look of it!

I mean look at those legs & side pieces. Who wouldn't swoon over them?

So what is a girl to do in such a dilemma? Paint her heart out duh.
Here is some after shots!

love the side of the table even more now!

some distressed detail

I first sanded and cleaned the entire piece. After that I painted the whole table, it took a few coats here and there but it dried pretty even. After I got the whole piece covered the way I wanted it I took some 100 grit sand paper and distressed certain parts of the table. And Viola! It was done :)

I am SO in love with this table. It fits so much better in the room rather than the other one.
Anyone else score some good finds lately? If so link it up! I'd love to see.
